Research Officer

The National Research Council of Canada is looking for a vibrant and dynamic Research Officer (RO) / Discipline Leader (DL) to support the Electrical Power Measurement (EPM) discipline of the Measurement Science and Standards (MSS) Portfolio. As a successful candidate you will be expected to perform original research to meet the EPM objectives, to conduct calibrations, and to develop new methods within an ISO/IEC Standard 17025 quality system. You will be expected to interact in a positive manner with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in the laboratory as well as with external clients and collaborators. Also, you will participate in progress review meetings, report and discuss results, and explore opportunities for new activities consistent with the goals of the discipline and the MSS Portfolio. You will prepare research papers and technical reports, and will present results at conferences. The specific assignment of duties may be expected to change from time to time depending on the aptitude, abilities, and interests of the candidate and the needs of the Program, particular in function of demands from industry and other partners. In addition to the work in the laboratory in Ottawa, the successful candidate must be willing to travel and work on-site in Canada and abroad.
