SUMMARY:Science Advice in a Troubled World
DESCRIPTION:C’est avec fierté que le Centre politique de la science canadiennes annonce le lancement de la Série de conférences sur les politiques scientifiques canadiennes:\nScience Advice in a Troubled World \n Sir Peter Gluckman\, Conseiller scientifique principal du premier ministre de la NouvelleZélande\nEndroit: Institut de recherche sur la science\, la société et la politique publique (ISSP)\, Université d’Ottawa \nLe monde doit relever de nombreux défis\, qu’il s’agisse de la dégradation de l’environnement et des changements climatiques\, des enjeux en matière de santé mondiale\, du terrorisme\, et plus encore. Les relations sociales évoluent; les sources\nd’information\, fiables ou autres\, et leur transmission ont connu une évolution profonde. Dans ce contexte\, il faudra établir; estce que les conseils scientifiques fournis aux gouvernements peuvent aider à surmonter ces difficultés dans un monde de moins en moins stable et incertain? La relation entre la science et les politiques est complexe et les défis qui se situent à la croisée sont croissants. Quelle est l’importance des conseils scientifiques dans ce contexte? Comment la science peutelle mieux éclairer la définition de politiques dans un monde où la prise de décisions est de plus en plus effectuée en fonction d’un contexte de polémique postvérité? \nSir Peter Gluckman\, conseiller scientifique principal du premier ministre de la NouvelleZélande et président de l’International Network of Government Science Advice donnera son point de vue sur ces enjeux. \nCPSC a eu l’honneur d’accueillir Sir Peter Gluckman au CSPC 2015\, vous pouvez regarder les vidéos de son discour et interview:\nSir Gluckman discour au CPSC 2015\nSir Gluckman interview avec Mehrdad Hariri au CSPC 2015 \n \nSir Peter Gluckman ONZ FRS is the first Chief Science Advisor to the Prime Minister of New Zealand\, having been appointed in 2009. He is also science envoy and advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He is chair of the International Network of Government Science Advice (INGSA)\, which operates under the aegis of the international Council of Science (ICSU). He chairs the APEC Chief Science Advisors and Equivalents group and is the coordinator of the secretariat of Small Advanced Economies Initiative.  In 2016 he received the AAAS award in Science Diplomacy. He trained as a pediatric and biomedical scientist and holds a Distinguished University Professorship at the Liggins Institute of the University of Auckland. He has published over 700 scientific papers and several technical and popular science books. He has received the highest scientific (Rutherford medal) and civilian (Order of New Zealand\, limited to 20 living persons) honours in NZ and numerous international scientific awards. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of London\, a member of the National Academy of Medicine (USA) and a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (UK). \nEndroit\nLa séance inaugurale sera accueillie par l’Institut de recherche sur la science\, la société et la politique publique (ISSP). Fondé en 2010\, l’ISSP renforce les capacités dans ce domaine par la recherche\, l’éducation et la sensibilisation. L’ISSP est géré par un groupe multidisciplinaire de professeurs appartenant aux facultés des arts\, du génie\, de droit\, de médecine\, des sciences et des sciences sociales. Ses activités englobent la politique en matière de science et d’innovation\, la prise de décisions fondées sur des preuves et la gouvernance de la technologie. Il se penche sur des questions allant du financement des entreprises scientifiques et technologiques à leur surveillance réglementaire en passant par leurs répercussions sociales.
