Her work has resulted in unprecedented investments in Canadian commercial R&D for electronics manufacturing. These investments support start-ups and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in the healthcare, energy, ICT and aerospace sectors.
Irene continues to give back to the engineering community as a regular contributor to global manufacturing standards at international associations. Irene is an active member and contributor to the Advanced Manufacturing Council for the Barrie Chamber of Commerce, International Conference for Electronics Enabling Technologies, NSERC Committee on Research & Partnerships, NSERC Computing Hardware Emerging Intelligent Sensory Applications, Centennial College Advanced Research Innovation Commercialization Advisory Board, Surface Mount Technology Association and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Irene is the Head of the SingularityU Canada Global Impact Challenge.
