As British Columbia's health research funding agency, the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research thinks deeply about how to grow, improve and best support BC health research and researchers. As part of this effort, MSFHR is implementing gender neutral peer review processes for all 2019 competitions to foster gender equity in our funding programs, and mitigate the effects of systemic bias in peer review.

These changes will be implemented immediately across all 2019 competitions, including the 2019 Research Trainee competition which is now open for applications (letter of intent deadline January 11, 2019).
