Robin Winsor is President and CEO of Cybera, the not-for-profit technology-neutral agency that operates and manages Alberta’s Research and Education Network. The organization is a strategic investment by the Government of Alberta and its members to accelerate technology adoption in the province and support post-secondary institutions. CyberaNet is the dedicated network for unmetered, not-for-profit traffic, and it functions as a conduit for aiding innovation, research, education and ingenuity in Alberta. Cybera works closely with higher education institutions in Alberta to collaborate on projects and exchange knowledge whenever possible.
Since joining Cybera in 2009, Winsor has preserved the organization’s commitment to research and development, while also increasing Cybera’s relevance and engagement with commercial enterprise. Winsor has a strong background in sectors such as oil and gas, seismic, geophysics, and medical science. He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and the American Geophysical Union as well as the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Winsor studied geophysics and artificial intelligence at the University of Edinburgh.
