Thank you for your interest in submitting an editorial!

CSPC publishes editorials authored by voices from academia, industry, government, and the non-profit sector with a goal of sharing diverse perspectives on key issues in Canadian science, technology and innovation (STI) policy. See previous editorials here.

Editorials can be submitted either as part of a formal editorial call, or on a rolling basis as a standalone piece. We publish submitted editorials year-round.

Editorials will be published on the CSPC website and shared on social media channels, as well as in upcoming newsletters, ensuring wide exposure to STI stakeholders across Canada.

The guidelines below are intended for contributors submitting editorials to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across all published pieces.

AI Usage Policy for CSPC Editorials

CSPC editorials must reflect the original thought and voice of the author(s). Authors may use AI tools for grammar, editing, summarizing, or image generation. All final editorial content must be written, reviewed, verified, and approved by the author(s) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and integrity.

If AI tools are used in any part of the editorial process, authors must include an acknowledgement indicating the use of AI.

CSPC does not permit editorials to be entirely generated by AI without human authorship, accountability, and oversight. Our goal is to promote transparency while supporting responsible and ethical use of technology in science policy dialogue. We are looking forward to presenting and highlighting your thoughts and perspectives on various topics for readership by a Canada-wide audience.
